Appeal after woman with pushchair robbed in Hackney

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a woman pushing her child in a pram was robbed in Hackney.

Police were called to Darenth Road, N16 at 15:37hrs on Sunday, 1 January following reports of a robbery.

Upon arrival officers spoke with a woman who had been robbed of her handbag by a single male suspect.

The victim was shocked by the ordeal but did not require hospital treatment. The child was unharmed.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, aged 25-30 years 5ft 9ins tall, slim build with short cropped black hair. He was wearing a blue trench coat and blue jeans.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.
