Detectives have today, Thursday, 5 January, released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault on a bus.

The incident occurred on Friday, 11 November at 13:43hrs on a Route 25 bus whilst it was travelling from Romford Road, E12 towards Ilford.

The 18-year-old man victim was sat at the front of the bus on the top deck when he felt something hit the back of his head. He immediately turned around and saw a few people but no one looking suspicious.

When the victim touched the back of his head he felt a small metal ball protruding from his skin, which was bleeding slightly.

Police believe the victim was struck by a metal ball fired from a ball bearing (BB) pellet gun.

The injured man required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

The incident is being investigated by detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Teresa Moore on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
