Appeal following collision in Camberwell

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a collision which seriously injured a motorcyclist.

Police were called to Camberwell Road, SE5 at 14:54hrs on Thursday, 9 February to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found the motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, with serious injuries.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and has assisted officers with the investigation. There have been no arrests.

Officers from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are investigating and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about what caused it.

DS Wendy Parker leads the investigation - she said: "This collision happened in the middle of the afternoon, and people who live and work in the area would have been out and about.

"We are trying to piece together what happened, and we believe that members of the public may have vital information about that day's events. We would urge anyone who saw the collision and the moments leading up to it to come forward."
