Appeal following collision in Ilford

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a fail to stop collision in Ilford.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 01:05hrs on Sunday, 13 November, to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a car in Green Lane, Ilford.

Officers attended and found a 32-year-old male pedestrian with injuries. He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains with life changing injuries.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.

At this early stage detectives believe that a white car - possibly a BMW - was in collision with the pedestrian as he crossed the road. The car stopped momentarily before driving off, heading in the direction of Cobham Road.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it. They are also appealing to the public to keep an eye-out for a car matching the description of the vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident. There is a possability that the car may have been abandoned.
