Appeal following criminal damage to cars in Barking

Detectives from Barking and Dagenham Borough investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage to cars have issued CCTV footage of a man they wish to identify and speak with.

Between 01:00hrs and 03:00hrs on Saturday, 12 December, police were called to reports of criminal damage to two cars outside a residential address on Woodbridge Road in Barking.

Further investigation identified 25 cars damaged in the vicinity of Dereham Road, Barking over a similar time period.

CCTV captured the suspect taking out an unidentified tool and scratching the bonnets of the cars.

The suspect [ref. 198389] is described as a bald man, aged in his 50s, of large build. He was wearing a white top, trousers and dark coloured shoes.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man caught on CCTV.
