Appeal following death of pillion rider in Camden

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a collision in Camden.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 20:44hrs on Tuesday, 21 February to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a taxi in Clerkenwell Road at the junction with Farringdon Road.

Officers attended and found the pillion passenger - a woman in her 40s - injured. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The process of indentifying and informing her next-of-kin is underway.

Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The male motorcyclist sustained minor injuries but he did not require medical assistance.

The taxi driver stopped at the scene. They were not arrested and are assisting officers with their enquires.

Local road closures are in place.

Enquires continue.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.
