Appeal following fatal collision in Crystal Palace

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Crystal Palace.

Police were called at approximately 14:33hrs on Tuesday, 24 July to reports of a motorcycle in collision with a lamppost on Central Hill, SE19.

Officers, London's Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service attended.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the 37-year-old motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene at 15:00hrs.

His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

A 38-year-old female pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries. She has since been discharged.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it.

In particular, any drivers with dash-cam footage of the incident are urged to share this with police as a matter of urgency.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
