Appeal following robberies on the Isle of Dogs

Detectives in Tower Hamlets investigating two knife point robberies in the same street on the Isle of Dogs are appealing for witnesses and information.

The first incident took place on Saturday, 7 May at about 17:15hrs on Cassilis Road, E14 - the suspect followed and then robbed a woman of her black handbag at knife point.

Detectives are linking a second robbery on Cassilis Road on Tuesday, 10 May also at about 10:00hrs. On this occasion the suspect approached a woman with a knife but she managed to run away from him. He did not steal anything on this occasion.

Local uniformed officers will be providing reassurance in the area and are asking people to be vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously to the police.

The suspect is described as a white man, gaunt and unkempt in appearance. He had a graze or cut to the left side of his face, along his jaw line. He is 6ft or more tall and was wearing a black hooded jumper and black jogging bottoms.
