Appeal following serious collision

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the A12, near the Leytonstone junction.

Police were called at approximately 04:50hrs on Sunday 21 January to a vehicle having collided with a lampost.

Officers attended along with LAS and LFB.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

His next of kin have been informed.

The car, a black Ford Focus, was travelling west bound along the A12, when it collided with the lampost.

No arrests have been made.
