Appeal following shooting in Ilford

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was shot in Ilford.

At 04:57hrs on Sunday, 5 February, police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to a man injured in High Road, Ilford.

Officers attended along with LAS and found an injured 22-year-old man inside a car. He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

The man is believed to have been shot and also sustained minor knife injuries. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating. Enquiries continue in order to establish the full circumstances.
