Appeal following stabbing in Thornton Heath

Detectives from Croydon are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was stabbed in Thornton Heath.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 22:58hrs on Wednesday, 18 January to reports that man in his late 30s had been stabbed in Parchmore Road.

Officers attended and found the victim with stab wounds to his abdomen and wrist. He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment to his injuries and he has since been discharged.

At this early stage detectives believe that the victim was stabbed by the suspect following an altercation.

The suspect is described as a black man, aged in his 20s, 5ft 7ins tall and was wearing dark clothing. The suspect was also in the company of a female who is described as a black woman, aged in her 20s and was also wearing dark clothing.

The stabbing occurred on a main road and despite the late hour there is a possibility that were a number of people who could have witnessed the events leading up to the stabbing or the incident itself.

No arrests have been made and enquires continue.
