Roads and Transport Policing officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Teddington.
Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at around 2300hrs on Monday, 27 February to a car and pedestrian in collision on Kingston Road, Teddington - near the junction with Ferry Road.
Officers attended and administered emergency life support to the pedestrian, a woman, until the arrival of LAS and medical staff from London's Air Ambulance.
The woman, aged 46, was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. Whilst officers believe they know who the deceased is, and next of kin have been informed, they await a formal identification.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
