Appeal for witnesses to non-fatal shooting

Officers from the Met's Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating a shooting in Newham.

Police were called at around 22.15hrs on Tuesday, 16 January to reports of shots fired in Biggerstaff Road, Stratford E15.

Officers attended. A 21-year-old male was found a short distance away with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to an east London hospital. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

At this early stage, it is believed that the victim was in a vehicle when another vehicle pulled up alongside it, a number of suspects got out and one opened fire.

No arrests; enquiries continue.

Officers from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating.
