Appeal for witnesses to serious collision in Stratford

Roads and Transport Policing Command officers are appealing for witnesses and information after a collision in Stratford left a driver in a critical condition.

On Wednesday, 23 November at approximately 06:00hrs police were called to reports of two cars in collision on Portway E15.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended to find a collision between a silver Ford Mondeo and a blue Vokswagen Golf.

The driver of the Golf - an 18-year-old man (victim 1) - was taken to an east London hospital. He is described as being in a critical condition.

Three passengers in the car - a 21-year-old man (victim 2), a 22-year-old man (victim 3) and a 19-year-old woman (victim 4) - were taken to east London hospitals. Their injuries are described as not life threatening.

The driver of the Mondeo - a 26-year-old man - was taken to an east London hospital with minor injuries. He was subsequently discharged.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Chadwell Heath are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
