Appeal to identify men sought by officers

Detectives investigating an assault in Croydon have issued CCTV footage to identify men they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

On Sunday 22 August, police were called to reports of a man having been assaulted at Seneca Road, Thornton Heath at 02:50hrs.

The 31-year-old victim was approached by four men as he walked home alone after a night out. He was taken to a quiet back street where the men attacked him. During the incident the victim's mobile phone and wallet were taken.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Jacqueline Flockton said:"We believe that this attack was motivated by robbery, however, the level of violence went far beyond the usual and left the victim with fractures to his face and a number of head injuries.

"I urge anyone who can name the men pictured to contact me. All information received will be treated in the strictest confidence."
