Appeal to identify two men in Dalston assault investigation

Police in Hackney Borough are appealing for the public's help in identifying two men they wish to speak to regarding the serious assault of a man in Dalston.

On Monday, 1 August police were called at around 02:35hrs to reports of a man having been attacked in Glebe Road, E8 by two men that had just run off.

Officers attended and the man, aged 37, was found suffering facial and head injuries. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

Both suspects were described as black males, aged in their 20s, around 5ft 8ins tall. One was described as wearing a white jacket and beige trousers; the other was described as wearing dark clothing.

The attack is being investigated by Hackney Borough CID.

Officers are releasing two images of men they wish to speak to regarding the attack.

DC Larissa Nightingale, the officer in the case, said:

"I am appealing to anyone who recognises the men in these images to contact police and assist our investigation. Any information will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

"This was a violent and unprovoked attack and it is imperative that these two males are identified as soon as possible."
