Appeal to trace driver after collision in Barking

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a driver failed to stop at the scene of a serious collision.

At 04:00hrs on Sunday, 6 December, a car was in collision with a pedestrian on the eastbound A13 near to Goresbrook Leisure Centre in Barking.

The pedestrian - a 21-year-old man - was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver failed to stop at the scene. The vehicle, a dark coloured Mercedes, was found shortly after the incident. Enquiries are continuing re trace the driver.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Chadwell Heath are investigating.
