Appeals continue following sexual assault, Carshalton

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and information after a 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a stranger whilst out jogging in Sutton.

The victim went jogging at about 17:00hrs on 24 October 2016. She was jogging through the grounds of All Saints Church in High Street, Carshalton, when she was approached by an unknown man. She was then sexually assaulted.

She managed to escape uninjured and ran home. The police were then called.

The man has been described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build with short ginger/blonde hair. He was wearing a navy hooded top, dark jeans and he was carrying what appeared to be a jacket.

A 26-year-old man voluntarily attended a police station on Monday, 23 January and was interviewed by detectives in relation to this incident.

He was not arrested. Enquires continue.
