Arrest after man critically injured in collision, NW9

Officers investigating a fail to stop collision in Colindale that left a man critically injured have arrested a woman.

On Sunday night, 12 February, a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

She was taken to a north London police station and was subsequently released on bail to a date in mid April.

On Saturday, 11 February police were called at around 23:15hrs to Edgware Road near The Hyde, NW9 following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The car, believed to be a black Audi, did not stop at the scene.

London Ambulance Service attended and treated a man in his 20s. He was taken to a central London hospital. His injuries are described as life threatening. His next of kin have been informed.

Officers are urging for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the Serious Collision Unit based at Alperton on 020 8991 9555, the police non-emergency line on 101 or by tweeting by @MetCC.
