Arrest made in Homerton stabbing

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Homerton have made an arrest.

On Friday, 27 January a 19-year-old man was arrested at an address in Hackney on suspicion of attempted murder. 

He remains in custody at an east London police station.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and information following the incident.

Officers were called at 18:08hrs on Monday, 23 January to reports of a stabbing in Harrowgate Road. 

They attended the scene along with the London Ambulance Service and found a 20-year-old man with a number of stab wounds. 

He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives believe that the victim was chased by a number of individuals before being stabbed. They made off from the scene shortly afterwards.

Detectives from the Met's Trident Area Gang Command are investigating.
