CCTV image issued after sexual assault in Thamesmead

A CCTV still has been issued of a man police would like to speak to in connection with a sexual assault.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for help in identifying a man after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in Greenwich.

On Thursday, 23 April at about 18:30hrs, a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man as she travelled on a route 177 bus between Woolwich New Road and Central Way, Thamesmead.

The suspect is described as a white man, medium build, aged about 30 to 40 years of age, with short dark hair.

Police officers are releasing a CCTV image of the man they would like to speak to and ask anyone with information to contact DC Joanne O'Connor on 07795 266293 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 177872.

Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated and all sexual offences are taken very seriously.
