Detectives in Lewisham are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a fail-to-stop collision.
Police were called to a road traffic collision involving a Honda motorbike in Hither Green Lane, Hither Green, at 20:04hrs on Wednesday, 19 October.
Upon arrival, the London Ambulance Service was treating the 23-year-old motorcyclist who was lying injured on the ground. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
A silver Volkswagen was found abandoned at the scene. There was damage to the front of the vehicle, including a shattered windscreen.
The occupant or occupants of the vehicle had made off from the scene before police arrived.
Officers are urging any witnesses to come forward, or anyone else who has information that could help their enquiries.
Detective Constable Victoria Yusuf, the investigating officer from Lewisham’s Major Crime Unit, said: "A young man is in hospital fighting for his life as a result of this serious collision. I would appeal to those who were in the Volkswagen that evening to search their conscience and come forward to tell us what happened that night.
"We are also very keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or thinks they may have seen the silver Volkswagen or the black Honda motorbike earlier that evening."
