Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal collision in Fulham.
Police were called to Fulham Road, SW6 at around 1100hrs on Thursday, 25 January to reports of a road traffic collision.
At the scene a Mercedes car had been in collision with an elderly pedestrian.
London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance also attended.
The pedestrian, an 87-year-old man, was taken to a central London hospital where he later died.
Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene.
Officers from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit [SCIU] investigate.
No arrests have been made and enquires continue.
