Fatal collision in Tower Hamlets

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Tower Hamlets.

Police were called at approximately 13:50hrs on Saturday, 30 April, to reports of a motorcycle and bus in collision on Roman Road close to the junction with Driffield Road, E3.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended

The male rider, believed to be aged in his early 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 15:06hrs.

Next of kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The Route 8 bus stopped at the scene. There were no reports of any passengers being injured.

Detectives from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision.
