Detectives investigating the death of a cyclist in Whitechapel are appealing for witnesses and information.
Police were called at 08:56hrs on Monday, 6 February, to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a coach in Whitechapel High Street, near the junction with White Church Lane and Whitechapel Road.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found the 32-year-old female cyclist injured. She was taken to an east London hospital where she later died.
Detectives from the Serious Collision investigation Unit are investigating.
Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be scheduled in due course.
The collision occurred during peak rush hour and there would have been a number of road users around at the time of the incident. Detectives are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to the incident to come forward.
The driver of the coach stopped at the scene. He was not arrested.
