Detectives investigating reports of premises concerned in the supply of drugs have arrested a man after two officers were injured.

Two officers from Greenwich were injured when they attended the premises in Courtlands Avenue, SE12 at 20:16 on Thursday, 9 February.

As officers approached the premises, the suspects - believed to be two or three men - attempted to make off. The officers tried to stop the men from fleeing and were struck with a heavy object, causing them to receive head and facial injuries. The men fled the scene.

The injured male officers were taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital where they received treatment and were later discharged.

A quantity of Class A drugs and cannabis was recovered from the scene. Further enquiries at the address have established that it was being used as part of a drugs supply operation. It was not a cannabis factory nor otherwise involved in cultivating drugs.

A 21-year-old man [A] was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of drugs in the early hours of Friday, 10 February. He was taken into custody at a south London police station.

Enquiries continue to trace at least one outstanding suspect.
