Man arrested for terror offence released without charge

A man who was arrested last week on suspicion of a terrorism offence has been released without charge.

Detectives from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 19-year-old man at approximately 03:00hrs on Thursday, 29 March on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

The man was arrested in east London under the Terrorism Act and was taken into custody to a south London police station.

A warrant for further detention was granted on 29 March by Westminster Magistrates' Court later but the man was subsequently released from custody without charge on Saturday, 31 March.
