Detectives have today, Saturday, 14 January, released a CCTV image of a man wanted for questioning following a violent robbery in Westminster.
Police were called to Charles II Street, SW1Y at 01:15hrs on Friday, 6 January following reports of an assault.
Officers attended and found a 41-year old man lying unconscious and suffering from serious facial injuries. He was taken to hospital and treated for numerous injuries to his face and head - he required over 50 stitches and has since been discharged.
CCTV enquiries have established that two men were involved in the robbery and assault of the victim.
The two suspects approached the victim from behind. When they got in close proximity, the first suspect pulled the victim to the ground at which point the second suspect launched a prolonged attack with a glass bottle. The first suspect is then seen to remove a high value watch from the victim and run off. The item stolen is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Watch which as a serial number of Z815979.
An image of the first suspect and an image of the watch stolen have been released in an effort to identify the man wanted for questioning.
