Man still sought in connection with North Woolwich murder

Police have arrested a man circulated as wanted in connection with the murder of Jordan Ajobo in Newham on 8 November 2017.

Officers were appealing to trace 21-year-old Ibraheem Giwa [D] in connection with the murder. Giwa was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, 11 January.

He had been detained for an unrelated matter in Exeter, by Devon and Cornwall Police on Wednesday, 10 January.

He was later released under investigation in relation to the murder.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are still appealing to the public to help locate Cristiano Filipe, 21.

The public are advised not to approach Filipe, and instead call police immediately on 999 if seen.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to Pier Road, E16 at around 20:10hrs on Wednesday, 8 November to reports of a man stabbed.

Officers attended the scene and found Jordan Ajobo suffering critical injuries. Officers administered first aid at the scene. London Ambulance Service attended and conveyed Jordan to an east London hospital where he sadly died at around 21:30hrs.

A post-mortem examination took place at East Ham Mortuary on Friday, 10 November and gave cause of death as a stab wound.

On 20 November, two 21-year-old men [A and B] were arrested. 'A' was arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently bailed to a date in mid-December. 'B' was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and released under investigation. 'A' has subsequently also been released under investigation.

A 21-year-old man [C] was arrested in Leeds on Wednesday, 29 November. He was subsequently charged as above.
