Murder investigation launched in Camberwell

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Camberwell.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at approximately 09:15hrs on Saturday, 19 November to reports of a man assaulted in Camberwell Church Street, near the junction with Wilson Road, SE5.

Officers attended and found a man - believed to be aged in his thirties - suffering from stab injuries. He was taken by LAS to a south London hospital where he later died.

Next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. Formal identification awaits.

Cordons remain in place around the scene.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
