Nine-year-old boy injured following collision with car in Barking

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a nine-year-old boy was left seriously injured following a collision with a car in Barking.

Police were called at 19:00hrs on Friday, 31 July to reports of a pedestrian in collision with a car in Ripple Road, IG11 junction with Upney Lane.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found the nine-year-old boy suffering from head injuries. He was taken by London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Next-of-kin are aware.

The driver of the car involved stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made.

Temporary road closures have now been lifted.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Chadwell Heath Traffic Garage are investigating and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision.
