Road closures in place following Wood Green firearms incident

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to Station Road, Wood Green at 2348hrs on Monday, 14 August to reports of a shooting.

At the scene a 25-year-old man had suffered a gun shot injury to the leg.

He was taken by London Ambulance Service to a north London hospital where his condition has been deemed non life threatening.

A crime scene was established and road closures are in place.

Trident and Area Crime Command investigate. At this early stage officers retain an open mind as to motive.

No arrests. Enquiries continue.

Road users are advised to avoid the area as Wood Green High Road, junction with Lordship Lane and Station Road, is closed and significant traffic delays are anticipated.

Access for pedestrians to Wood Green Tube Station remains unaffected.
