Second man charged with the murder of Abdullahi Hassan in South Hampstead

A second man has been charged with the murder of Abdullahi Hassan in South Hampstead.

[E] Mohammed Mahir Miah, 20 (27.03.99) of Lancefield Street, W10 was charged on Saturday, 3 August with the murder of Abdullahi Hassan and the attempted murder of another man.

He will appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 5 August.

Previously, [B] Amil Choudhury, 20 (26.02.99) of Walterton Road, W9 was charged on Monday, 29 July with murder and attempted murder. 

He appeared in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 29 July – he was remanded in custody; update awaits.

Three other men – [A] 23 yrs; [C] 23 yrs and [D] 23 yrs – have been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of this investigation and all bailed pending further enquiries.

An investigation was launched after police were called at around 23:45hrs on Thursday, 25 July, to Ainsworth House, Boundary Road, NW8, where 20-year-old Abdullahi and a 22-year-old man were found with stab injuries. 

Both men were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service (LAS) for treatment but Abdullahi was pronounced dead at 00:37hrs.
