Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service's Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for help in identifying a man after a woman was sexually assaulted while waiting for a bus in Westminster.

On Saturday, 12 October, at about 05:30hrs, a 20-year-old woman was waiting at a bus stop near the Hard Rock Café on Old Park Lane, W1 when a man forcibly held her down and tried to kiss her.

The suspect is described as an Asian man aged between 30 and 35 years old, with short dark hair and a short beard. He was wearing a blazer, a white T-shirt, a green cap, dark zip-up jacket, jeans and white trainers.

Officers have released a CCTV image from a Route C2 bus, which the suspect boarded after the incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Constable Matt Poore on 020 3054 5401 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 190444.

Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated and all sexual offences are taken very seriously.
