Shopkeeper violently robbed

Police in Lambeth are appealing for information on a violent robbery where a shopkeeper was attacked with a metal road and threatened with a Samurai sword.

The incident happened at an off-licence in Lambeth Walk, SE11, on 2 October at approximately 22:00hrs when two males walked into the premises and approached the victim.

One has the sword and the other brandished the metal rod and demanded money from till. One of the suspects then hit the victim - a 45-year-old man - over the head repeatedly with the rod which caused a large cut to the head.

They left with £700 stolen from the till.

The victim called 999 and was taken to a south London hospital where he required stitches to his cut forehead.

Both suspects are males, around 20-years-old around 6ft tall and of slim build, dressed in dark clothing.
