Update: Arrest made following fail to stop collision in East Ham

Detectives from the Met's Road and Transport investigating a fail to stop collision in East Ham have made an arrest.

A man, in his early 20s was arrested on Sunday, 6 November on suspicion of failing to stop and causing serious injury by dangerous. He has been bailed to a date in early March pending further enquiries.

Police were called at approximately 14:55hrs on Thursday, 27 October, to reports of a blue Ford Focus in collision with three pedestrians on Central Park Road, E6.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. The pedestrians - a 60-year-old woman, an 11-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl - were taken to hospital for treatment.

The two children sustained minor injuries. The woman's injuries were more serious, but her condition was not life-threatening.

The car involved stopped a short distance away and two male occupants were seen to run off on foot.

Detectives from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and enquiries continue.
