UK inventors delivering chocolate to the world

Birmingham-based inventors and chocolatiers Martyn Robinson and Hayleigh Perks show just what it takes to invent a new Cadbury Dairy Milk bar with the launch of the delicious new Cadbury Dairy Milk Medley, at Mondelez’ Global Centre for Chocolate Invention in Bournville. The Research and Development Centre, located at the home of Cadbury, is the birthplace of every new exciting chocolate product created by Mondelez anywhere in the world.

Mondelez has invested over £18 million in this Global Centre of Excellence in the UK, securing a home for over 300 creative inventors, chocolatiers and engineers working tirelessly to deliver new exciting ranges and flavours to meet consumers’ ever changing tastes and preferences. For example, Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations invented in Bournville are now worth in excess of half a billion pounds globally and enjoyed in over 15 countries.

The Cadbury Dairy Milk range now gives Cadbury chocolate fans 40 different ways to enjoy the world famous recipe including Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations and Cadbury Dairy Milk Bubbly. The most recent new product development coming in the form of the indulgent Cadbury Dairy Milk Medley, an irresistible new chocolate bar where the quality ingredients are just too delicious to hide so they sit sumptuously on top of soft centred and silky smooth chocolate. Available in two mouth-watering varieties, the first with rich dark chocolate chips, crunchy biscuit and soft fudge pieces and the second with dark chocolate chips, sweet caramelised hazelnuts and raspberry pieces that burst with flavour.

Having previously worked as a chef and baker has helped me feel really confident playing with different flavours and looking for that all new ‘wow’ taste combination to really capture the nation’s imagination.
