Top journalist to deliver talk at Elgin library

One of Scotland’s most experienced journalists will be delivering a talk on his latest book next week.

Former Scotsman editor Alan Taylor will visit Elgin Library to talk about his book Appointment in Arezzo: a friendship with Muriel Spark.

Alan has been a journalist for over 30 years. He was deputy and managing editor at the Scotsman, and Writer-at-Large for the Sunday Herald. He is also editor of Scottish Review of Books.

Using sources ranging from notebooks he kept from his very first encounter with Muriel Spark to the hundreds of letters they exchanged over the years, Alan Taylor has written an invaluable portrait of one of Scotland’s premier novelists.

The event takes place on Thursday 12th July at 7pm. Tickets are £5 and are available from Elgin Library, or online at: https://secure.moray.gov.uk/eshop/home.php

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
