Operation Rebate – arrest made following non dwelling burglaries

News   •   Jan 22, 2018 15:15 GMT

Operation Rebate was launched in January 2017 following a number of non-dwelling burglaries where property has been stolen from garages, outbuildings and sheds at houses, farms and businesses.

There have been 160 burglaries in Hart which have been linked to this operation, during which items such as quad bikes, power tools, horse tack and small plant machinery have been stolen.

Inspector Olga Venner, said: “We are committed to tackling burglaries within our communities and would remind residents that there are steps that can be taken to help deter criminals.

“I would like to encourage people to record details, including serial numbers, of their property. They can use websites such as Immobilise to help with this. Also, a quick and easy way to record these details would be to take photos of the item and serial numbers using a smart phone or camera.”

“If you see or hear something suspicious, please contact us on 101 quoting Operation Rebate - or call 999 if a crime is in progress.”

A 34-year-old woman from Blackwater has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft and is currently in police custody.
