With a need to reach out to so many people, as well as partner organisations and charities, CGL was spending £150,000 a year on postage. A majority of this amount was generated by its 33 largest sites, as the entire mailing process was both manual and disjointed.
Six of the locations were using franking machines, all sourced independently, while the rest used stamps. A large number of items also needed to be sent by special delivery, requiring staff to queue in the Post Office. CGL needed to reduce postage costs and increase mail efficiency across its sites.
