Well apart from the club flyers I am too old to be handed back round the town and the business cards introducing our customers to new opportunities, where do all the letterheads and mail shots go?
With the help of our new after print partner, Neopost, we have found that other businesses complete an alarming amount of our print and help it to the final destination; there is still alot of ‘chargeable’ work to be done when it leaves our print room.
Whereas the actual printing may be very price sensitive the folding of mail and inserting in envelopes is where the new profit can be found. Also, forget about those expensive window envelopes or address labels for your customer’s mail outs. Printing direct onto the envelope with a variable data addressing system is where the new money can be earned.
Mailing companies are installing print equipment and so in return we should be investing in completing the journey of our print and producing print right up to the point of despatch, ie Royal Mail or courier, printing addresses, logos and PPi codes. Complete marketing campaigns start with bespoke message on the outside of the envelope, charities, banks and loyalty cards are already aware of how this increase response. Customers don’t need to see their print jobs at all; they seed the database and know when the post has landed. Our esteemed clients have also bought into this one stop shop scenario and want a supplier to quote and deliver on print and post. We have been very impressed with one part of this production utilising the Neopost AS-970C address and graphics printing system that not only prints each envelope in a complete mailing at 4-5000 per hour, but copes well with A4 letters, post cards, place settings on glossy card up to .5 mill thick and most other things we print. Anything from a credit card size 8 1/2” x 17” long envelope is printed economically and extremely fast. The bonus here is to upgrade existing mono budgeted jobs to colour using this more affordable technology.
Our own satisfied customers orders included seed packets and square banker wage envelopes. Job settings can be stored in the memory. The print system has only one print head and a cartridge can last up to 150,000 prints. The ink is recycled and does not dry out in the equipment, as it is water based.
