In this article I am going to look at the Apple iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy Note. These are two of the most impressive and popular smartphones currently on the market, and as you will see they are very different from one another. Read on to find out how these handsets differ, so you can decide which one is the best.
One of the most noticeable differences about these two handsets is in the size of their screens. The Samsung Galaxy Note has a much larger screen at 4.3 inches, compared to the 3.5 inch screen of the iPhone 4S. However, what the Apple device lacks in size it more than makes up for in display quality thanks to its retina display, boasting a pixel density of 330 PPI compared to 285 PPI of the Galaxy Note.
Connectivity and Storage
The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts a number of connectivity and storage features which the iPhone 4S lacks. In terms of storage, the Samsung Galaxy Note has a microSD slot which allows users to expand storage with a compatible memory card, and also has USB connectivity. DLNA and NFC is also included in the Samsung Galaxy Note.
The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, which at the time of its release made it one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. On paper, this is considerably more powerful than the 1GHz dual-core processor of the Apple iPhone 4S.
Front Facing Camera
Both handsets feature a front facing cameras for taking self portrait photos and videos. The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts a 2 megapixel front facing camera, whereas that of the iPhone 4S has a resolution of just 0.3 megapixels.
The iPhone 4S utilises the iOS platform, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Note has the latest version of the Android OS. These are very different platforms, and choosing between them is likely to come down to personal preference. Apple's AppStore has some 25,000 more apps than Google Play, and also provides direct updates unlike Android which relies on manufacturers or networks to release them. This way, users of the iPhone 4S will get software updates much quicker than those who have a Samsung Galaxy Note.
Of course, there is so much more to both of these phones than what I have covered in this article. Choosing between them will come down to personal preference for features such as the brand, screen size, operating system for design of the handsets etc. Either way, both handsets make a great choice and you are sure to be pleased with whichever one you pick.
