The HTC One was among the first high profile Android smartphone models to be released in 2013. The device continues to be one of the most successful devices on the market, with its innovative spec list and stylish design gaining the phone plenty of recognition, and helping it clock up millions of sales.
The HTC One originally runs Android 4.1 Jellybean as its operating system of choice. However, GSM Arena has recently reported that the long awaited update to Android 4.2.2 Jellybean is now beginning to seed globally to unlocked HTC One handsets. The 400 MB update provides a number of welcome additions, such as the usual performance optimisations, enhanced customization options and a package of welcome new features.
Among the changes made to the handset’s software are an
enhanced launcher bar, Android Daydream Mode, quick settings and widget panel
rearrangement. The remaining battery percentage will now be shown on the status
bar and users can instantly access the options menu by holding down the home
button. By swiping up from the home button, a shortcut to the voice activated
Google Now application is provided. Instagram feeds are now supported by the BlinkFeed
interface, and a number of updates have been made to both the phone's camera
software and accompanying HTC Zoe feature. The lock screen has also been
improved, and now includes widget support, meaning that widgets can be
instantly accessed from the lock screen in the same manner as standard
applications. Best HTC One prices are available on our website.
