We are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the early hours of this morning (7 June).

It happened just after midnight outside McDonald’s on Chertsey Lane in Woking town centre.

The victim was left unconscious and suffered facial injuries as a result of the assault. He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged this morning.

It’s believed three men carried out the assault.

Detective Constable Michael Taylor, who is investigating the case said “we are asking anyone who was out in Woking last night, perhaps if you were watching the football and noticed someone behaving suspiciously in the town centre, to come forward with information."

The events are unclear so we need the public’s help to find out what happened and bring those responsible to justice.”
