We are appealing for two Good Samaritans to come forward after they came to the aid of a woman who had been assaulted during a domestic incident in Kirkby.

At around 9pm on Friday 14 June 2019 two women who had been travelling in a dark grey Toyota car came to the aid of the woman, who appeared distressed, on Bank Lane. They took the woman to an address on Saxon Way.

They are described as white, in their early twenties, and with dark hair. They spoke with Liverpool accents.

A 28-year-old man from Kirkby was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on bail.

Detective said: “We believe these two women could have vital information that could assist with our investigation into this incident.

“To be clear, they are not in any trouble – we simply believe that their contact with the victim shortly after she was assaulted means they could be uniquely placed to provide crucial details.”
