Judge Denise Cote has decided that Apple (manufacturer of the iPad) is guilty for eBook price fixing. We’re not surprised Apple will be appealing the guilty verdict. However, the Cupertino firm is claiming it is Amazon that is guilty. Is this a case of trying to point the finger on someone else?
In a statement, Apple’s spokesperson, Tom Neumary, said, “Apple did not conspire to fix ebook pricing and we will continue to fight these false accusations.
“When we introduced iBookstore in 2010, we gave customers more choice, injecting much needed innovation and competition into the market, breaking Amazon’s monopolistic grip on the publishing industry.
“We've done nothing wrong and will appeal the judge’s decision.”
Do you agree with Apple when it says Amazon is guilty, or do you think it is merely trying to point the finger on someone else? Share what’s on your mind through a comment.
