If you were looking to buy the Apple iPad Mini 2 this 2013, this may not happen. According to a report, Apple will not be launching the iPad Mini’s follow-up until Q1 2014.
This is according to UDN, a Chinese-speaking newspaper. The newspaper reports that Apple is having an issue with its supply chain. This is why we will not be seeing the iPad Mini 2 until next year. Past rumours claimed that the smaller version of the iPad would be making its appearance in autumn. If this new rumour is true, this won’t happen until the first quarter of next year.
What the other reports and this new report have in common, however, is they agree that the iPad Mini 2 will sport a retina display. The first iPad Mini did not come with a retina display.
Apple hasn’t announced anything official about the iPad Mini 2, so treat this just like any other rumour for now. This also means that we may just see the smaller tablet this year as expected.
