A leaked photo showing the Apple iPhone Light, a more affordable version of the iPhone, with both FCC and CE stamps of approval has surfaced on the internet.

The news comes from iCalrified. According to the site, “An image has surfaced on the Chinese site weibo.com which shows the rumored low cost iPhone with FCC markings on its rear shell.

“Previously leaked photos and video had shown the rear shell without any markings except the word iPhone and the Apple logo.”

The site also talks about the device’s rumoured release date. It says, “A rumor from earlier today has Apple releasing two new iPhone devices on September 6th.”

What are the FCC and CE stamps of approval? FCC (Federal Communications Commission) comes from the US, while CE (European Commission) comes from Europe. These stamps approve any device to be sold in the US and Europe. They can be found on the back of any device. If the photo is genuine, this suggests that the iPhone Light and iPhone 5S will soon be launched by the Cupertino firm.
