Apple recently unveiled iOS 7, the latest update to iOS for iPhones (see more on the Apple iPhone 5 here) and iPads (see more on the Apple iPad 4G here). One of the new features on board iOS 7 is Notification Center.
In a press release (see press release here) Apple introduced Notification Center. The Cupertino firm announced, “With iOS 7, Notification Center is now available from the Lock screen so you can see all your notifications with a simple swipe, and the new Today feature in Notification Center gives you an at-a-glance view of your day with a summary of the important details such as weather, traffic, meetings and events.”
The company explains more about the feature on its website (see iOS 7 website here). It explains, “Notification Center lets you know about new mail, missed calls, to-dos that need doing, and more. And a new feature called Today gives you a convenient summary of, well, today. One glance at your iPhone and you’ll know if it’s a certain someone’s birthday, if you’ll need an umbrella, or if traffic will slow down your commute. You’ll even get a heads-up on tomorrow. You can access Notification Center from any screen, including the Lock screen. Just swipe down. And get up to speed.”
There are three views. One is Today. According to Apple, “Today view gives you a summary of what you need to know about for the day. And a peek at tomorrow.”
The others are All and Missed. According to Apple, “The new All and Missed views let you see all your alerts or just those you haven’t addressed in the last 24 hours.”
You’ll get to enjoy iOS 7 with Notification Center by fall.
