This year’s CRESTx Lancaster Conference will be held on Wednesday the 3rdof July at Lancaster University. Organised by The Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST) the conference is the first of its kind and is a spin-off from the established CRESTcon event. The agenda for the day will consist of a series of talks offering information on a wide range of cyber issues including personal security and privacy, critical infrastructure protection and the human element of cyber security.
Speakers include representatives from host organisations Security Lancaster and CREST whose talks will ‘highlight cutting edge research and industry best practices and will draw on the multi-disciplinary approaches of Security Lancaster, Lancaster University’s Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security.’
Other talks will be delivered by the Institute of Engineering and private cyber companies such as UK based security auditing software development company Titania.
Andy Williams, Head of International Business Operations at Titania, will be exploring the difference between compliance and security and the dangers of assuming the two are one and the same, in his presentation ‘Is Compliance a Route to Security Risk?’[i]
The event is tomorrow but you can still register here. Lancaster University is one of the Cyber Security Centres of Excellence and hosts a number of cyber related events. If you're interested in cyber then why not follow Security Lancaster on Twitter
